Connecting clients to geographically dispersed servers simplifies network administration. VLANs can group computers together into logical work groups. The grouping allows hosts to communicate as if they were on the same LAN, regardless of the physical topology of the network. Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN) is a logical grouping of hosts. Windows Server 2016* and later has built-in options for Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN).
